Acceptable Use Policy

ZoneNotice LLC, an Oregon limited liability company · Last updated 24 September 2026

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaking it can cost you your account, and in the cases marked as material, immediately and without a refund.

In one line. Use ZoneNotice to find and act on filings relevant to your own work. Do not drain it, do not resell it, do not share your login, and do not use what you find here to send people unsolicited marketing.

1. Extracting the data

You may search, view, filter and export records for your own business use, within the limits of your plan. You may not:

  • Use automated means — scripts, crawlers, headless browsers — to extract records in bulk.
  • Work around export limits, rate limits or plan quotas, including by cycling accounts.
  • Reconstruct a substantial part of our database, however slowly.

These are material breaches. If you need data at a scale the product does not offer, email us — that is a conversation, not a violation.

2. Redistributing the data

You may not resell, sublicense, republish or redistribute records obtained from ZoneNotice, or incorporate them into a competing product or a dataset you supply to others.

Using records inside your own business — in a bid, a report to a client, a project file, your CRM — is exactly what the product is for and is fine. The line is at supplying our compilation to third parties as a thing of value in itself.

Reselling is a material breach.

3. Contact details, and what you may not do with them

Some records name applicants, property owners and contractors, and some include a phone number or address. Those people did not sign up with us and did not consent to marketing.

You may not use contact details obtained from ZoneNotice to send unsolicited commercial email, text messages or automated calls. That is both a breach of this policy and, depending on what you send, a breach of the federal CAN-SPAM Act or the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which carry their own penalties.

Contacting a party about a specific filing you are legitimately involved in is not what this prohibits. Loading our contacts into a marketing list is.

Bulk marketing from our contact data is a material breach.

4. Your login

An account is for one person. If more than one person at your firm needs access, buy seats — that is what they are for, and they are cheaper than the risk.

Sharing credentials outside a paid seat is a material breach.

5. The service itself

Do not:

  • Probe, scan or test the security of the service, or try to reach accounts, data or systems that are not yours.
  • Interfere with the service's operation or place an unreasonable load on it.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive our source code.
  • Remove or obscure attribution, or present our output as coming from a government agency.
  • Remove, obscure or alter the notices, sources or disclaimers in a report or export, or present one as your own work, as a survey, or as an official document.
  • Use the service to break the law, infringe someone's rights, or harass anyone.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@zonenotice.com rather than exploring it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine vulnerability in good faith and does not access other people's data.

6. The AI assistant

Where the assistant is enabled, do not use it to try to reach data your plan does not include, and do not rely on it as a system of record — it reads the same filings you can see, and the same accuracy limits apply. Any change it proposes takes effect only when you click to apply it, and what you apply is your responsibility.

7. Payment

Do not use a payment method you are not authorised to use, and do not dispute a charge you recognise without contacting us first. Chargeback abuse is a material breach.

8. How we enforce this

Where a breach is minor or looks like a first mistake, we will normally tell you what is wrong and give you a reasonable chance to fix it.

Where a breach is material — the ones marked above — we may end your access immediately and permanently, and no refund is due. We may also take technical measures to stop the activity and, where the law requires it, report it.

If you think we have got it wrong, email support@zonenotice.com. We will look again.

9. Reporting misuse

If you believe someone is misusing ZoneNotice, or you have received marketing from someone who appears to have taken your details from it, tell us at support@zonenotice.com. We take the second one seriously.
